When you go to Accela Marketplace, you can select your service type. Permits can be inspected by third-party or Department of Buildings (DOB) inspectors. You may obtain third-party inspections bids, but once you select a third-party inspection company or a DOB construction inspection for a permit, you will not be able to modify your choice without specific DOB permission.

• Find a third-party inspection company: You can search for third-party agencies and ask for a proposal for the inspections required. Once a company gets authorization on a permit, they will be responsible for all the necessary inspections until the permit is completed. Inspection fees are set by third-party companies and paid through Accela Marketplace.

• Accela Construction Inspections: You can schedule inspections by DOB inspectors. Once DOB starts working on a permit, they will be responsible for all the necessary inspections until the permit is completed. The cost of the inspections is already included in the permit fees.
